Designer: Prakash Gokalchand

Prakash is a spiritualist and chess enthusiast that we met in MacArthur Park almost 10 years ago. Every day, he would sit near the lake playing his preferred centuries-old mind sport with classic, unassuming style.

When we asked him to design a piece for our Contributor Collection, Prakash had very specific ideas about the buttons and the way the shirt would gently curve at the hem. He made sure the sleeves were able to roll easily and that the chest pocket was at least four fingers wide, and we obliged.

Like all Everybody.World contributors, Prakash receives 10% of the sales of his designs.

Care Instructions

Everybody.World by

Prakash Gokalchand

Introducing Prakash, an octogenarian spiritualist and chess enthusiast we met in MacArthur Park many moons ago. Back then, he would sit in the park everyday playing a centuries-old mind sport with classic, unassuming style. Always greeting us with a big grin.

It was through his interpretation of his perfect button-up that Prakash taught us about life. He believes the birds and trees and people and stars are all interconnected and has summed up his six decade plus inquiry into spirituality with three simple words: “All is one.”

This shirt was one of the first pieces in our Contributor Collection, designed back in 2017. And it's maybe the most enduring piece within that collection, ebbing and flowing in various garment dye colors and deadstock fabrics. It's a thing of unfussy beauty with functional details that'll make it your favorite shirt to put on.

The Contributor Collection is designed by everyday people. They enjoy 10% profits of their ideas.
