How to Measure Pants and Shorts

To measure pants: lay them flat on a surface.
  • For waist, measure across the top of the waistband from side to side and multiply by 2.
  • For length, measure from the top of the waistband to the bottom hem along the outer side.
  • For front rise, measure from the crotch seam straight up to the top of the front waistband.
  • For inseam, measure from the crotch seam straight down to the bottom hem.
  • For leg opening, measure from one side edge to the opposite side edge.
